Back to Hall of Fame

The Continex LH Series Carbon Black provided by the Continental Carbon employs Mirco Active Technology to add more active points on the surface of carbon black with large particle size. This design principle ensures excellent dispersibility of largesized carbon black particles coupled with lower hysteresis through the interaction effects between carbon black and rubber molecules. At the same time, added active points increase the number of contact surfaces between the carbon black particles and the rubber molecules, which facilitates the formation of bonds and ensures outstanding reinforcement.

The Continex LH Series Carbon Black are characterised by a lower rolling resistance and superior abrasion resistance, which result in greatly increased fuel efficiency and prolonged service life of tires. This low rolling resistance and high wear resistance carbon black will be tremendously helpful in electric vehicle development and the vehicle transportation industry’s road towards net zero carbon emissions.

"Continex LH Series Carbon Black: moving towards zero carbon emissions together with vehicle transport"

Highlights

  • Employs Micro Active Technology to add more active points on the surface of large-particle-size carbon black, which leads to lower rolling resistance and better anti-abrasion ability.
  • Passed Taiwan’s safety regulation CNS 1431 high-speed performance and durability performance tests.
  • Reduce 14% rolling resistance of tires for passenger cars tested by tire clients in Taiwan. The automotive fuel consumption is expected to decrease by 2.8–4.2%.
  • Gasoline consumption will decrease by 330,000 kiloliters per year, and carbon dioxide emissions will decrease by 790,000 tons per year if the Taiwanese market uses the Continex LH Series Carbon Black.
