to as Far Eastern SOGO) has developed three strategies,
“Energy Saving and Emission Reduction”, “Sustainable
Consumption”, and “Circular Business Model”.
Far Eastern SOGO has taken sustainable marketing actions
in many different aspects. Firstly, the company has published
a special issue of “SOGO Sustain Goods” twice a year since
November 2021. Secondly, it carefully selected environmentally
friendly products, enabling customers to “make good choices
easily whenever they shop”. Furthermore, Far Eastern SOGO
boasts a wide range of eco-friendly commodities with green
product sections set up at physical stores to promote its aim.
Moreover, as the company values local food and beverages,
the Zhongxiao Store collaborated with the social innovation
company, Season Selection, to organize a smallholder
market in 2018. As a result, the market has successfully
become the largest smallholder market at a department
store in Taiwan. Henceforth, Far Eastern SOGO's stores have
organized smallholder markets based on local features. These
smallholder markets allow consumers to discover high-quality
products and help the smallholders transition “from the place
of origin to the shelf”.
In summation, Far Eastern SOGO combined the three strategies
and took the lead in promoting eco-friendly policies among
retail stores in Taiwan.
