RCBC DiskartechPreneur is a financial literacy boot camp and
business case competition designed for senior high school
students in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President,
Department of Education, and social media platform ‘Kumu’. The
program aims to empower the next generation of Filipino leaders
and entrepreneurs.
It encourages entrepreneurship and the use of digital payments
among the young generation. The main objective of RCBC
DiskartechPreneur is to translate classroom learning theories
to real-life experiences and applications for the students,
specifically on proper financial management and the use of
financial technology to make their chosen business cases
successful.
Teams from various schools in the National Capital Region (NCR)
and Region IV-A submitted their business cases that included
a big idea on an innovation they wanted to introduce and sell.
Twenty entries that stood out from over 70 submissions were
chosen to be part of the boot camp and competition.
All young entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to
be mentored by top industry experts from the national
government, private sector, and start-up sector, who also
served as the competition’s esteemed judges. The student
entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to sell their products
online and were judged based on the quality of their business
cases and sales volume. The winners were given cash prizes to
further expand their businesses.
