Transparency as used in science, engineering, business, the humanities and in other social contexts, is the driving factor in building trust and it is an unusual process for years. The costs of transparency are significant, but they are outweighed by the benefits namely credibility, accountability and autonomy, which improves overall motivation and efficiency. Now is the time for change, to start embracing and promoting transparency, by demonstrating an open sharing of information and accountability at all levels.
