Back to Hall of Fame

Asia Cement Hualien Plant started to develop electrical instrument information 20 years ago. In 1983, ACTEC (Asia Cement TEChnology) was applied to cement production and waste heat power generation and started to support and export the technology externally.

Asia Cement cooperated with Yuan Ze University to integrate the original ACTEC control system into an “ACTEC AI control system”. The AI theoretical knowledge was integrated into the existing experiences and capabilities to develop the AI application of ACTEC, resulting in the launching of the Cement 4.0 project.

In the Pytorch deep learning environment, the AI control system was developed through a deep reinforcement learning algorithm of machine learning. The no. 4 cement grinding system model was built by both online and offline learning methods, and then the no. 4 cement grinding ACTEC AI control system was developed.

ACTEC provides long-term stable logistical technical support. Asia Cement’s self-built ACTEC control system can be used in cementrelated industries. It has been successfully applied to the textile industry. Therefore, Asia Cement can provide customised services for different industries.

"Getting Smart and Embracing AI, Asia Cement Goes for Green Manufacturing"

Highlights

  • Able to master key technologies and reduce the difficulty and complexity of maintenance through a tailor-made, selfbuilt control system.
  • Combines the AI intelligent control system in the cement grinding process.
  • Integrate cross-field process technology resources.
  • Provides unified, standardised and modular planning to reduce system complexity and optimise spare parts management.
  • Enables spare parts sharing: mutual support for spare parts can greatly reduce the spare parts of equipment and parts.
  • Designs system functions from the perspective of operators, maintenance personnel, and management personnel.
  • Reduces maintenance costs, downtime, energy consumption, and improves efficiency.
  • Improves process technology and shares automatic control resources.
