Mass spectrometers (MS) have been key instruments for chemical analysis for several decades. Their applications have been broad and cover nearly every field. Nevertheless, most MS systems are bulky, expensive, and typically analyze only relatively small molecules.
The portable mass spectrometer developed by the company overcomes these shortcomings. It measures only about 1 cubic foot, weighs less than 20 kg, and can be easily transported for real-time and on-site detection. Its mass range is extended by a factor of 10,000,000,000, enabling analysis from small molecules to viruses and cells. In addition, the system supports multiple ionization methods, allowing detection of many different molecular types. The cost of the iA-Mass spectrometer is approximately 20% of most conventional mass spectrometers.
iAnalyzer’s MS currently targets the detection of airborne molecular contaminants (AMC) for semiconductor industry applications, achieving sensitivity at the part-per-trillion level. When integrated with mobile platforms such as robots and drones, it can operate as a mobile or aerial analyzer. Beyond the semiconductor industry, the technology can also be used in biomedical, chemical, environmental, electronic, and forensic applications.
