Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the healthcare landscape is undergoing unprecedented transformation. Hospitals were not able to accommodate the patients as many as before and the patients were impacted by this challenge, this is how Takeda innovate to meet the needs of patients. As a health partner in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), Takeda initiated a patient-focused application of “IBD Friend” to assist the patients in IBD care with holistic approach and immersive experience. The key function of self-symptom assessment is a quick checkup tool to support the patients when the hospital visits are restricted. The results generated from this function will determine on the severity level where the patients can decide if further medical advice is required via hospital visit or telemedicine. Furthermore, wellness check-in function provides a set of questionnaires in collaboration with Thai Entero-Colonic Club to evaluate the disease progression which can be shared with doctors to enhance the quality of life.

The IBD Friend is one of key initiatives in Takeda IBD Roadmap to standard of IBD care in Thailand. The patients will be able to manage their health with limited to no interruptions from unexpected circumstances. Takeda will continue to champion the digital engagement at all levels and stay true to our commitment in providing Better Health for people, Brighter Future for the world.
