Back to Hall of Fame

Takeda Thailand, in partnership with 10 public health organizations, entered into the “Dengue-zero Memorandum of Understanding” which is a 5-year roadmap to reduce the burden of Dengue. The company believes that raising disease awareness through community participation is one of the key strategies to drive call for action on Dengue control and prevention.

Ing-ma, a virtual human who is the culmination of data from 1,237,467 people who suffered from Dengue in Thailand in the past 15 years was first introduced publicly as an eye-stopping icon for Dengue threat alerts. Her appearance was also determined by the average age of the patients, which were mostly school-aged children who are the most impacted group.

Ing-ma made its world debut on June 15th this year in commemoration of ASEAN Dengue Day through a series of video clips. She exists to reinforce that Dengue doesn’t discriminate and it can affect anyone.

In the dynamic healthcare landscape, awareness alone is not enough to fully reduce the Dengue burden. Thus, innovation will play a vital role to support the company in discovering new possibilities for Dengue control and prevention.
